About Central Board of Secondary Education

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Government of India. As per the Information Bulletin, the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has entrusted CBSE with the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to establish national standards and a benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

The minimum qualifications for appearing in the CTET are as notified by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Candidates are advised to visit the official website of NCTE at https://ncte.gov.in to ascertain their detailed eligibility. The notification mentions qualifications such as a B.Ed. Degree or a Diploma in Elementary Education. A relaxation of up to 5% in qualifying marks is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/Differently-abled).

How to Apply

  • STEP 1: Log on to the official CTET website: https://ctet.nic.in.
  • STEP 2: Click on the link “Apply Online”.
  • STEP 3: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down the system-generated Registration No./Application No.
  • STEP 4: Upload scanned images of your latest photograph and signature as per the specified format and size.
  • STEP 5: Pay the examination fee using a debit/credit card or net banking.
  • STEP 6: Print the Confirmation Page for your records and future reference.
