This role is ideal for highly experienced professionals with a Doctoral/Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Science, boasting a minimum of 25 years in technology domains, especially defence. Candidates with a strong background in R&D leadership, collaborative projects across academia/industry, strategic research planning, and technology transfer are particularly well-suited. The position demands an administrative and executive head capable of providing strategic guidance for long-term research roadmaps aligned with DRDO's future technology needs.

Individuals lacking significant leadership and extensive (25+ years) specialized experience in technology and defence domains should not apply. Those without a Doctoral/Master's degree in the specified fields or who are unwilling to commit to a full-time contract basis with performance review extension should also reconsider. Applicants over 61 years of age as of the application deadline are not eligible.
