Best-Fit Profile

This role is ideal for experienced heavy vehicle drivers residing in Kerala who are proficient in Malayalam and English, possess a valid Heavy Driving License, and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in driving heavy passenger buses. Candidates must be between 25 and 55 years of age and willing to work on a daily wage contractual basis with flexible hours. Individuals seeking stable, long-term employment within a state government institution, even if contractual, with opportunities for overtime and incentives, would find this suitable.

Important Considerations

Individuals seeking a permanent government job with traditional pay scales and benefits, or those unwilling to commit to a 2-year service period (which affects security deposit refundability), should not apply. Candidates lacking the specified heavy vehicle driving experience, or those who cannot commit to the Rs. 30,000/- security deposit upon joining, will also find this role unsuitable. Those unwilling to adhere to strict operational guidelines and accountability for damages will face challenges.

Career Impact

KSRTC SWIFT, as a Kerala Government institution, offers a degree of institutional stability and public service value. While the 'Driver cum Conductor' role is operational and contractual, it provides vital employment in the state's public transport sector. Career progression within this specific contractual framework might be limited, but it offers valuable experience and potential for continued engagement based on performance. The role contributes directly to public service and transport infrastructure.
