Candidates must possess a recognized medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part-II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, along with registration with the Medical Council (TCMC registration is required for some posts). Specific qualifications are:
- Super Specialist (Entry Level & Senior Consultant): MCh/DM/DNB or equivalent in the concerned Super specialty. All post-graduate additional qualifications must be registered with the Medical Council.
- Specialist (Junior & Senior): Post Graduate Degree/DNB, or Diploma in concerned specialty after MBBS. For Casualty/ICU roles, PG Degree or PG Diploma in Anesthesiology/General Medicine/Pulmonary Medicine/Emergency Medicine is required.
- Senior Resident: For Superspeciality departments, DM/DrNB in concerned superspeciality is preferred over MD/DNB in General Medicine. For Specialty departments, Post Graduate Degree/DNB, or Diploma in concerned specialty after MBBS is required. For ICU roles, PG Degree or PG Diploma in Anesthesiology/General Medicine/Pulmonary Medicine/Emergency Medicine/Critical Care Medicine is required.
All post-graduate additional qualifications must also be registered with the Medical Council.
