This apprenticeship is ideal for young candidates (18-27 years old, with relaxations for reserved categories) who have recently completed their 10th standard and a full-time ITI course from an NCVT/SCVT recognized institute. Aspiring individuals seeking valuable industrial exposure and a foundational career start within a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) would find this suitable. Candidates domiciled in Tamil Nadu will receive preference.

Candidates who have previously undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act 1961 are not eligible. Those who pursued their ITI through distance learning, part-time, correspondence, or sandwich courses are explicitly disqualified. Individuals primarily seeking immediate permanent employment, rather than a training opportunity, should note that BHEL has no obligation to offer employment upon completion of the apprenticeship.
