ISRO Scientist/Engineer 'SC' Recruitment 2026 (175 Posts)

Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer 'SC' in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix, with a minimum basic pay of ₹56,100/- p.m.

In addition to basic pay, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance will be payable as per extant rules. Employees will be covered under the New Pension Scheme. Further benefits include medical facilities for self and dependents, subsidized canteen, limited quarters facility (in lieu of HRA), Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, and House Building Advance, all admissible as per Central Government orders.

The selection process involves a Written Test/CBT followed by an Interview. The Written Test/CBT will be conducted at 37 venues across India and will consist of two parts:

• Part A: Area/Discipline Specific (80 Marks)
  • Duration: 90 Minutes
  • Questions: 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Marking Scheme: +1 mark for each correct answer, -1/3 mark for each wrong answer, 0 for unattempted questions.
• Part B: Aptitude/Ability Tests (20 Marks)
  • Duration: 30 Minutes
  • Questions: Maximum 15 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) covering Numerical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Diagrammatic Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, and Deductive Reasoning.
  • Marking Scheme: No negative marking.
• Total Marks: 100

Qualifying Criteria for Written Test/CBT:

• Unreserved Candidates: Minimum 50% in each of Part 'A' and Part 'B'.
• PwBD Candidates (for reserved posts): Minimum 40% in each of Part 'A' and Part 'B'.

Candidates will be short-listed for an Interview in a ratio of 1:5 based on their written test performance. The final panel will be generated with 50% weightage to Written Test marks and 50% weightage to Interview marks.

Applications must be submitted online through the official ISRO website, www.isro.gov.in, between 2026-08-27 and 2026-09-16 (11:55 PM). Upon successful registration, candidates will receive an online Registration Number, which should be preserved for future reference. A valid and compulsory email ID is required for all communications, including hall tickets/call letters.

Applicants need to upload scanned copies of the following documents:

• Recent Passport Size Colour Photograph: Must be in .jpg or .jpeg format, not older than 3 months, with a file size between 100 KB and 200 KB. The image should be clear, in colour, against a light-coloured (preferably white) background, and without reflections if wearing glasses.
• Signature: Must be in .jpg or .jpeg format, on white paper with black ink, with a file size between 80 KB and 150 KB.
• Supporting Documents: Relevant certificates for Women, SC/ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates (for fee refund). Candidates must be prepared to submit original documents for qualification, age, category, and NOC from employer, if applicable, when called for.

Candidates are advised to carefully check all entered fields before final submission and avoid multiple applications for the same post. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

There is a non-refundable Application Fee of ₹250/- for all posts. However, all candidates must initially pay a processing fee of ₹750/-.

The processing fee will be refunded to candidates who appear for the written test/CBT as follows:

• Full Refund: For Women, SC/ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates.
• Partial Refund: For all other candidates, ₹500/- will be refunded after deducting the ₹250/- application fee.

Payment is accepted only through online mode via Bharatkosh e-Payment gateway (Internet Banking, UPI, Debit Cards). No other forms of payment (cash, cheque, draft, etc.) are allowed. All applicable service charges for payment will be borne by the applicant.
