Best-Fit Profile

This role is ideal for Indian Nationals aged 25-40 with a Graduation degree, particularly those with a background in Indology, Epigraphy, Sociology of Culture, Cultural Economics, Structural/Engineering Aspects of Monuments, Numismatics, Conservation, Management of Art/Heritage, or Science and Technology related to culture and creativity. It suits individuals passionate about undertaking academic or application-oriented research projects in cultural fields who have not previously availed of a Junior Fellowship.

Important Considerations

Candidates who have previously received a Junior Fellowship are ineligible. This is a project-based award of Rs. 10,000/- per month for two years, not a permanent employment with monthly remuneration or pension, making it unsuitable for those seeking stable, long-term government employment or a higher direct salary.

Career Impact

Awarded by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, these fellowships offer significant prestige and a valuable opportunity for academic or application-oriented research in the cultural sector. While not leading to direct employment, it provides a strong foundation for a career in cultural research, heritage management, or related academic fields, significantly enhancing the awardee's portfolio and national recognition.
