Best-Fit Profile
This role is ideal for highly motivated postgraduate candidates holding a Master's degree in Physics or a related field with a strong academic record (minimum 60% marks/6.5 CGPA). Candidates with a robust background in Quantum Mechanics, Solid State Physics, Nanoscience, and Mathematical Physics, coupled with a keen interest in theoretical and computational research for nanophotonic devices, are particularly well-suited. Those aspiring to pursue a PhD at NIT Warangal will find this project-based position an excellent pathway, especially if they possess desirable experience in numerical techniques (like Quantum Espresso, DFT(VASP)) and a GATE/CSIR-NET qualification.
Important Considerations
Individuals lacking a Master's degree in a relevant discipline or without the specified minimum aggregate marks should not apply. Those seeking a permanent government position will find this temporary, project-based role unsuitable, as it has a defined duration of three years. Candidates who are not interested in research work or the possibility of pursuing a PhD, or who require TA/DA for attending interviews, should also refrain from applying.
Career Impact
Working as a Junior Research Fellow at the National Institute of Technology Warangal, an Institute of National Importance, offers significant academic prestige and invaluable research experience. This role provides an excellent platform for exposure to cutting-edge research in nanophotonic devices and offers a clear pathway to PhD registration, enhancing long-term career prospects in academia and research. While the position itself is temporary and project-specific, the institutional backing and research focus contribute positively to career growth.
