Junior Research Fellow

This Junior Research Fellowship at DRDO DYSL-AI is ideal for bright, young Indian nationals holding a First Division graduate degree in B.E./B.Tech with NET/GATE, or a Post Graduate degree (M.E./M.Tech) in a professional course, or a Post Graduate degree in Basic Science with NET qualification. Candidates must possess a strong foundational understanding of AI, ML, Deep Learning, and programming languages (Python, Java, C++). This role is particularly suited for those passionate about cutting-edge AI research with applications in defence, eager to join a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to innovative solutions, including those with experience in specific AI/ML libraries and domains like NLP, Computer Vision, or Reinforcement Learning.

Individuals who do not meet the strict first-division academic criteria or lack the mandatory NET/GATE qualification (where applicable) should not apply. Those primarily seeking a permanent government position with immediate absorption benefits will find this temporary fellowship unsuitable, as it does not guarantee absorption into DRDO. Candidates who have previously held a JRF position in any DRDO lab are also ineligible. This position requires active engagement in advanced AI research, so those without a keen interest or foundational knowledge in the specified AI/ML domains would not be a good fit.
