The competitive examination will be conducted in an Offline-OMR format. The exam consists of two papers:

• Kannada Language Examination (Qualifying):
  • Multiple-choice questions, maximum 150 marks.
  • Candidates must score a minimum of 50% to qualify. Failure to qualify will lead to rejection from the selection process.
  • Scores from this paper will NOT be considered for ranking.
  • Candidates who have studied Kannada as a first or second language in SSLC or higher, or through Kannada medium, or have passed the compulsory Kannada language test conducted by a commission/authority previously, are exempted.
• Paper-1 (General Knowledge):
  • Subjects: General knowledge of Current Affairs, General Science, Geography, Social Science, Indian Society and its historical development, History of India and Karnataka, Indian Constitution and Public Administration, Practical knowledge and intellectual ability (SSLC level), Social and cultural history of Karnataka, Land reforms and social changes in Karnataka post-independence, Economy of Karnataka (strengths, weaknesses, current status), Rural Development, Panchayat Raj institutions and rural cooperative institutions, Role of Science & Technology for effective administration in Karnataka, Environmental issues and development in Karnataka, Mental ability.

• Paper-2 (Specific Subject):
  • Subjects: Specific subject syllabus (to be published separately).

Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score a minimum of 35% in the competitive examination to be eligible for the selection process. Failure to achieve this will result in disqualification.

Negative Valuation:

• For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
• If the fifth option (indicating 'not attempted') is not shaded for unanswered questions after the final bell, 0.25 marks will be deducted per question.

• Fill out the application form carefully, ensuring all details are accurate as no changes or corrections will be allowed after submission.
• Candidates are advised to read the official notification thoroughly and understand all instructions before applying.
• Upload a recent passport-size photograph (JPEG format, 50KB to 200KB) and signature (JPEG format, 50KB to 70KB). Applications without these will be rejected.
• Ensure all required certificates for educational qualifications and reservations are obtained by the application deadline and are available for original document verification.
• The application process starts on 2026-07-15 and the deadline for online application is 2026-08-13. The last date to pay fees is 2026-08-14.

• For General Merit and Other Categories: Rs. 750/- (Rs. 500/- application fee + Rs. 250/- processing fee)
• For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Category-1, Ex-Servicemen, and Transgender candidates: Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- application fee + Rs. 250/- processing fee)
• For Differently-abled candidates: Rs. 250/- (processing fee only)
• An additional fee of Rs. 100/- is applicable for each extra post applied for beyond the first.
• Fees once paid are non-refundable.
