Detailed qualifications for various posts are as follows:
- Principal: Must be a retired Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya/Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, or a retired Joint Director/District Education Officer/Inspector of Schools/Deputy Director/Officers of equivalent status holding a Master's Degree with at least 45% marks in aggregate and B.Ed. (NCTE Approved), or a retired Reader/Sr. Lecturer of Govt. colleges with a Master's Degree (at least 45%) and B.Ed.
- Post Graduate Teachers (PGT):
- Post-Graduate in the concerned subject with 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PH/SEBC candidates).
- Must possess a Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from an NCTE recognized institution.
- Special Provision (if B.Ed. candidates are unavailable for Hard/Very Hard stations): Post Graduates with 60% marks in Science subjects and 55% in Humanities subjects may be considered for PGT posts.
- Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT):
- Graduate in the concerned subject with 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PH/SEBC candidates).
- Must possess a Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from an NCTE recognized institution and be CTET/OSSTET approved.
- Special Provision (if B.Ed. candidates are unavailable for Hard/Very Hard stations): B.Sc. with 60% marks or B.A. with 55% marks may be considered for TGT posts.
- Art Teacher: Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts/Visual Arts from a recognized University. Proficiency in teaching in Odia & English medium. Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.
Candidates with Special B.Ed or D.Ed are not eligible for PGTs and TGTs.
