Educational qualifications vary by post:
- PGT (Post Graduate Teacher): Post Graduate Degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university. B.Ed degree is required, but not for 4-year integrated degree courses.
- TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher):
- A four-year integrated degree course from a Regional College of Education of NCERT or other NCTE recognized institution in the concerned subject, OR
- Bachelors Honours Degree in the concerned subject with studies for at least 2 years in the 3-year degree course, OR
- Bachelors Degree from a recognized university in the concerned subject, with studies for all three years of the degree course.
- Mandatory for all TGTs: Passed Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET Paper-II) conducted by CBSE and B.Ed Degree (not applicable for 4-year integrated degree courses). Competence to teach through English and Hindi. Specific subject combinations apply (e.g., for TGT Maths, TGT Science, TGT Social Studies).
- TGT Arts Teacher: Graduate in Fine Art/Craft from a recognized university OR B.Ed with Fine Art from a Regional College of Education.
- TGT Physical Education Teacher (PET): Graduate in Physical Education from a recognized university/institution.
- Staff Nurse: B.Sc. Nursing (Hons.), B.Sc. Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized university/institution, AND registered with the State Nursing Council as a Nurse or Nurse (MW).
- Counsellor: Master's Degree in Psychology/Clinical Psychology from a recognized university, AND a one-year Diploma in Guidance & Counseling from a recognized university or institution. Candidates must also have studied the local language of the state up to Class VIII.
Note for TGTs: If CTET Paper-II qualified candidates are not available, STET Paper-II qualified candidates may be considered.
