Best-Fit Profile
This role is ideal for highly motivated individuals with a Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, Genetics, or Life Sciences. Candidates with relevant post-qualification experience (3 years for Graduates) and expertise in molecular biology techniques, handling human biological samples, virology research, and scientific documentation will be particularly well-suited. Those seeking temporary project-based work within a prestigious central government research institution will find this opportunity appealing.
Important Considerations
Candidates looking for a permanent government position should not apply, as this is a purely temporary, project-based role. Individuals who have served in ICMR Projects/Institutes for more than three years are also ineligible. Those lacking the specified educational qualifications or the mandatory 3 years of post-qualification experience for graduate degree holders will not be considered. The single vacancy and walk-in interview format might not appeal to candidates seeking multiple opportunities or a structured online application process.
Career Impact
Working at ICMR-NIHR, a constituent body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, offers significant prestige and exposure to high-impact health research, particularly in areas like dengue virus characterization. While the position is temporary, it provides valuable experience in a central government research environment, which can be beneficial for future career prospects in public health and scientific research.
