Research Assistant & Field Investigator

This opportunity is ideal for Postgraduates (Research Assistant) and Graduates (Field Investigator) in Social Science disciplines seeking short-term, project-based contractual work. Candidates with NET/M.Phil./Ph.D. are highly preferred for the Research Assistant position. Essential skills include strong analytical abilities, data collection proficiency, and knowledge of MS Office, SPSS, STATA, and Power BI tools for Research Assistant. Field Investigators must be willing to travel within Himachal Pradesh for data collection. Individuals looking for immediate engagement in a government-funded research project will find these roles suitable.

Candidates seeking permanent government employment should not apply, as these are purely temporary, project-based appointments with a tenure of up to 4 months. Individuals unable to join within one week of receiving the appointment letter, or those who cannot report for the walk-in interview on the specified date and time, will be disqualified. Applicants without the minimum 55% marks in their qualifying degrees are also ineligible. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview or joining.

While the appointments are contractual and project-specific, working at a National Institute of Technology (NIT) offers valuable exposure to research methodologies and project implementation within a Central Government institution. This experience, particularly for Research Assistants with higher qualifications, can significantly enhance future academic or research career prospects.
