Best-Fit Profile
This role is ideal for junior scientific professionals with a Bachelor's or B.Tech degree in life sciences or related fields, possessing at least two years of hands-on laboratory experience, particularly in mammalian cell culture, experimental techniques, molecular biology protocols (DNA/RNA/protein work), and animal handling. Candidates seeking a short-term, contract-based research opportunity within a prestigious cancer research institute should apply.
Important Considerations
Individuals lacking the essential minimum two years of specific hands-on laboratory experience in the listed skills should not apply. Those seeking a permanent government position or a higher pay scale may find this role unsuitable, as it is a consolidated salary, ad-hoc, and initially for a six-month contract. Candidates unable to attend the walk-in interview in Navi Mumbai on the specified date will also be unable to apply.
Career Impact
ACTREC, part of the Tata Memorial Centre, is a renowned institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, offering a highly respected environment for cancer research. While this specific role is a short-term contract, it provides valuable experience in a leading research facility, enhancing one's resume and opening doors for future research or government positions. Long-term growth directly within this ad-hoc role is limited, but the institutional exposure is significant.
