Technician Bench Chemist

Candidates will be appointed at Pay Level-5.

The selection process involves a Written Competitive Examination (Computer Based Test) and evaluation of work experience.

• Format: Computer Based Test (CBT) with 100 multiple-choice, objective-type questions.
• Languages: Hindi and English.
• Duration: 2 hours.
• Total Marks: 400 marks.
• Marking Scheme: 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer.
• Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks:
  • General Category: 40%
  • Backward Class: 36.5%
  • Extremely Backward Class: 34%
  • SC/ST, Women, and Persons with Disabilities: 32%
  • Candidates from outside Bihar (including women and PwD) must score 40%.
• Syllabus: The detailed syllabus, based on the requirements of the recruiting department, will be published separately on the BTSC official website.

• Up to 25 marks will be awarded for satisfactory service in non-private laboratories (e.g., Central/State Govt., Municipal, Panchayati Raj, Public Institutions, Military Laboratories) on a contract basis in an equivalent post.
• 5 marks will be awarded for each year of experience, up to a maximum of 25 marks. (For partial years, marks will be prorated).

• The percentage of marks obtained in the written exam will be multiplied by a factor of 0.75. For example, 50% marks in the exam will equate to 37.5 marks for merit list calculation.
• The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance in the written examination and work experience, followed by document verification.

• Application Period: July 24, 2026, to August 23, 2026.
• All required certificates/mark sheets must be uploaded by the application deadline (August 23, 2026).
• Applicants should ensure all information filled in the online application is accurate and matches original documents. No changes or corrections will be entertained after submission.
• A hard copy of the submitted online application and all relevant documents should be retained for future reference and document verification.
• Mandatory Documents for Upload:
  • Matriculation original certificate.
  • Mark sheets and original certificate/provisional certificate for all years of D.Pharm or B.Pharm.
  • Mandatory experience certificate (as per Appendix-I format) for 6 months in drug testing and analysis.
  • Caste Certificate / Non-Creamy Layer Certificate / EWS Certificate (if applicable), issued by the competent authority of Bihar.
  • Permanent Residence / Domicile Certificate.
  • Certificate for descendants of Bihar Freedom Fighters (if applicable).
  • Disability Certificate (if applicable).
  • Experience Certificate (in prescribed format for contractual employees if applicable).
• All uploaded certificates/mark sheets must be valid up to August 23, 2026.
• Photograph Requirements: The uploaded photograph must be recent (within 3 months), show the full face and head clearly with eyes open, and have a plain white background with no shadows. Spectacles must be removed for the photo.
• Candidates are advised not to wait until the last date to apply to avoid internet/banking disruptions. Incomplete, unclear, or late applications will be rejected.

Each candidate must pay an examination fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only). Additional bank charges will apply for online payments made via Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, or UPI. The fee must be paid online, and the receipt should be retained by the applicant.
