Best-Fit Profile

This opportunity is ideal for dedicated life science professionals aiming for project-based research experience within a government autonomous institute. For the Project Research Scientist - I role, candidates with a Postgraduate or PhD in Life Sciences, specifically with hands-on industrial or advanced academic experience in mammalian cell culture, biopharmaceutical production, USP/DSP, bioreactor operations, and GMP compliance, are well-suited. The Project Technical Support - II position targets individuals with a 12th Science + Diploma (MLT/DMLT) and 5 years experience, or a Life Sciences graduate degree with 2 years of experience in molecular biology techniques and laboratory maintenance.

Important Considerations

Individuals seeking long-term permanent employment immediately may find the initial 6-month contractual engagement a dealbreaker. Those without specific qualifications in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.) or lacking the detailed practical experience in areas like mammalian cell culture, biomanufacturing processes, or molecular biology lab work, as specified for each post, should not apply. Lack of necessary experience certificates could also disqualify candidates.

Career Impact

BRIC-NIAB, an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, offers a reputable platform for cutting-edge research in animal biotechnology. These project-based roles provide valuable exposure and experience in specialized fields, enhancing one's professional profile within the scientific community. While the initial engagement is short-term, successful performance often leads to project extensions or opens doors to further research and development opportunities in prestigious institutions, both public and private.
