Best-Fit Profile

This opportunity is ideal for dedicated research professionals with Master's or Ph.D. degrees in Life Sciences, Microbiology, or Environmental Biology. Candidates with relevant post-qualification experience (2-8 years depending on the post) in multi-omics, microbiology, or environmental biology, particularly with hands-on experience in microbial culture, environmental sample processing, or bio-manufacturing research, will find these roles highly suitable. It is particularly advantageous for those who have qualified national eligibility tests like CSIR-UGC NET or GATE, or have a strong background in microbial genetics and medium-scale culture optimization.

Important Considerations

Individuals seeking permanent government employment should not apply, as these are short-term, project-based contractual positions. Candidates lacking the specified post-qualification research experience (minimum 2 years) or the required Master's/Ph.D. qualifications in relevant life science disciplines will not be eligible. Those unable to attend the walk-in interview on 12th May 2026 (or submit virtual interview requests by 7th May 2026) will miss the application window. Coming after the time slot or without complete documents will lead to disqualification.

Career Impact

Working at THSTI, an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, offers a prestigious platform for research in areas critical to public health and bio-innovation, such as SARS-CoV-2 surveillance and antimicrobial resistance. While these are contractual positions, they provide valuable experience in high-impact research projects, enhancing a candidate's profile for future scientific careers in government or private research sectors. The institute's affiliation with the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council ensures exposure to cutting-edge research and potential for professional growth within specialized scientific domains.
