This role is ideal for highly accomplished senior executives with a strong academic background, particularly in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or Management. The ideal candidate must possess extensive technical, operational, and project management experience at a senior level within a reputable organization. Candidates currently serving in a regular capacity at or equivalent to a Joint Secretary level in the Central Government/All India Services, Major General in the Armed Forces, or immediately below Board level in large CPSEs, SPSES, or Private Sector Companies (with annual turnover exceeding Rs. 1000 crore) are well-suited. A minimum age of 45 years is required, along with impeccable integrity and a proven track record of leadership.

Candidates under 45 years of age are not eligible. Individuals lacking significant senior-level experience or those without a strong academic foundation (Graduate minimum, with preferred specializations) should not apply. The position is offered on a deputation/contract basis for five years, so those seeking a permanent role immediately might find this unsuitable. Applicants who are currently employed on a contractual or ad-hoc basis are also ineligible, as regular employment status is mandatory.
