Best-Fit Profile

This role is ideal for dynamic graduates with 1-2 years of experience in tour operations or travel agencies, specifically those looking for a contractual engagement within a government-affiliated entity like IRCTC. Candidates with a background in Tourism or a diploma in Travel & Tourism will find this role a good fit. It suits individuals who are proactive, customer-focused, and adept at managing tourism-related activities, ticketing, and customer service. The role involves travel and direct engagement with 'Bharat Gaurav Rakes' and other tourism initiatives, making it suitable for those who enjoy field work and coordination.

Important Considerations

Individuals seeking permanent government employment should not apply, as this position is purely contractual for a period of two years and does not guarantee regularization. Those unwilling to work on a contract basis or travel extensively will find this role unsuitable. The requirement of a security deposit for selected candidates might also be a dealbreaker for some. Freshers without prior experience in tour operations or travel agencies are unlikely to meet the eligibility criteria.

Career Impact

Working with IRCTC, a subsidiary of Indian Railways, offers exposure to a large public sector undertaking and its extensive tourism operations. While the role is contractual, it provides valuable experience in a reputable government-affiliated organization, which can enhance future career prospects in the travel and tourism sector. The 'Tourism Monitor' role involves supporting significant initiatives like 'Bharat Gaurav Rakes', offering a chance to contribute to national tourism development. The experience gained here could be a stepping stone for future opportunities within IRCTC or other government/private tourism entities.
