Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Minimum qualifications for various Project Assistant posts include ITI, Diploma in relevant engineering fields (Chemical, Metallurgical, Mechanical, Computer, Electronics, Glass Blowing), or B.Sc. in Chemistry/Geology.
  • For Project Associate posts, requirements range from B.Tech./B.E. in various engineering disciplines (Chemical, Metallurgical, Materials, Mechanical, Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Data Science) to M.Sc. in related scientific fields (Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Material Science, Physics, Geology).
  • Candidates applying for Project Associate-I/II posts who have qualified National Eligibility Tests (CSIR_UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET including lectureship "Assistant Professorship" or GATE, or selected through National level examinations by Central Government Departments) may be eligible for higher emoluments.
  • Project Scientist-I requires M.Tech. in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Materials Engineering along with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Specific project requirements may include particular combinations of degrees or alternative qualifications.

Age Limit Details

The upper age limit is 35 years as of the date of interview/test. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates by 5 years, and for OBC candidates by 3 years.

Salary & Pay Scale

  • Project Assistant-I(PA-I): Rs. 18,000/- + HRA
  • Project Assistant-II(PA-II): Rs. 20,000/- + HRA
  • Project Associate-I(PAT-I): Rs. 25,000/- + HRA (or Rs. 31,000/- + HRA for NET/GATE qualified candidates or those selected through National level examinations by Central Government Departments)
  • Project Associate-II(PAT-II): Rs. 28,000/- + HRA (or Rs. 35,000/- + HRA for NET/GATE qualified candidates or those selected through National level examinations by Central Government Departments)
  • Project Scientist-I: Rs. 56,000/- + HRA

How to Apply

  • Interested and eligible Indian nationals must report for a Walk-in-Interview/Test at CSIR-NML, Burmamines, Jamshedpur-831007 (Jharkhand) between 09:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on the scheduled dates (03.12.2025, 04.12.2025, and 05.12.2025), as per the specific group schedule.
  • Candidates must submit a duly filled application form (prescribed PROFORMA available in the notification) with a recent color passport-size photograph pasted on it.
  • Self-attested copies of all relevant testimonials/certificates in support of qualification, age, caste, and experience(s) must be attached.
  • Original certificates/documents must be presented for verification during the Walk-in-Interview/Test.
  • No other mode of application will be entertained.
