District Legal Services Authority, Ranchi 2026 Recruitment: Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel (Multiple Vacancies)

Honorarium (Retainership fee) varies based on the post and classification of the town (population).

Note: In case of any discrepancy, candidates should refer to the approved scheme by NALSA.

Eligible candidates are invited to apply for engagement as Full Time Assistant Legal Aid Lawyers. The application process is as follows:

1. Download the Scheme of Engagement and Application Form from the official website Civil Courts, Ranchi (https://ranchi.dcourts.gov.in) or obtain it from the Notice board of DLSA, Ranchi.
2. Duly fill out the application form.
3. Attach self-attested copies of all necessary documents, including:
   • Certificates in support of educational qualifications.
   • Certificate in Enrollment issued by the Bar Council under the Advocates Act, 1961.
   • Photo Identity Card and Address Proof.
   • Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the last 3 years (if available).
   • For Chief/Deputy Legal Aid Defense Counsel (mentioned in scheme, but this application is for Assistant): Photo copies of judgments in 5 Sessions cases and photocopies of at least 5 cross-examinations in Sessions cases where represented as Defense Lawyer. Applicants should only submit documents relevant to the Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel role as outlined in the official notification.
4. Submit the completed application form along with the self-attested documents by speed post or personally in an envelope to the office of the Secretary, DLSA, Ranchi.
5. The application must reach the office on or before April 22nd, 2026, by 17:00 Hrs. Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.
