Best-Fit Profile

This role is ideally suited for highly qualified individuals holding a Ph.D. in Mechanical or Materials Engineering who possess a strong background in research and development of prosthetic devices. Candidates with demonstrated experience in areas like FDM-based additive manufacturing, machine learning, and medical rehabilitation devices, and those keen on contributing to an ICMR-funded R&D project, will find this opportunity particularly fitting.

Important Considerations

Candidates lacking a Ph.D. in the specified engineering disciplines or without direct research experience in prosthetic device design and development should not apply. Those seeking permanent government employment might find the project-based, contractual nature of this position (initially one year, extendable up to three years) to be a dealbreaker.

Career Impact

Working as a Project Scientist at an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) provides significant prestige and an excellent platform for research career growth. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a nationally important ICMR-funded project, enhancing one's research portfolio and networking within a high-calibre academic and scientific environment. While contractual, it offers valuable specialized experience and a stepping stone for future research positions.
