Applicants must possess a Master's degree in the specific discipline for the Assistant Professor post (e.g., Management, Hindi, Urdu, Islamic Studies, Commerce, Sociology, History, Public Administration, Geography, Political Science, English, HRM, Education) with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade). In addition, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, such as SLET or SET.
- Hold a Ph.D. Degree awarded under the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil. / Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016, and any subsequent amendments. Specific exemptions apply for Ph.D. candidates registered prior to July 11, 2009, subject to fulfilling stipulated conditions outlined in the notification.
- Possess a Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 in the World University Rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE), or the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
