Consultant Psychiatrist
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- A basic university or equivalent qualification included in any one of the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, and must be registered under the State/Central Medical Registration Act.
- MD Psychiatry or DNB Psychiatry.
Age Limit Details
The upper age limit for the post of Consultant Psychiatrist on contract basis is not exceeding 40 years as on 01.10.2025.
Reservation and relaxation in the upper age limit will be made only for the category of the post reserved for such categories, as per the instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time. SC candidates applying for un-reserved posts are not entitled to any relaxation in upper age limit.
Salary & Pay Scale
Emoluments (On Contract Basis):
The emoluments for the post of Consultant Psychiatrist will be Rs. 75000/- per month (consolidated fixed salary).

- Candidates should appear for Walk-in-Interview on 26.11.2025 at 3:00 PM in Conference Room, 2nd Floor, U.T Secretariat, Chandigarh Administration, Sector 9, Chandigarh.
- Hard copies of the application form along with photocopies of certificates/testimonials must be submitted in Conference Room, 2nd Floor, U.T., Secretariat, Chandigarh Administration, Sector 9 Chandigarh at 2:00 PM on the day of walk-in-interview (26.11.2025).
- The application form is available at the GMCH website.
- Candidates must attach two recent passport size photographs (one pasted on the form), application fee, self-attested copies of certificates (educational qualifications, degree, registration, date of birth, experience, caste certificate, UDID Certificate, etc.).
- Attested copies of Caste/Community certificate in the prescribed format (non-creamy layer for OBC) should also be attached.
