NDMA Consultant (Awards) Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 1 Post

The Consultant (Awards) operates directly within the IT Division of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA Bhawan, Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi) under the Prime Minister's oversight. The core operational mandate centers on the annual life-cycle execution of the Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puruskar (SCBAPP) and other national awards. The consultant serves as the single point of contact for the National Awards Portal (awards.gov.in), monitors applicant registration windows, coordinates with the Disaster Management and Awards Divisions of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), oversees the outsourced data quality control team, assists various screening committees, and prepares dossiers for final submission to the National Jury. The work culture is fast-paced, administrative, and data-centric during award nomination and jury cycles.

The position is purely contractual, based full-time on-site at NDMA Headquarters in New Delhi. The initial engagement is for 3 years, with year-to-year continuation contingent on annual performance reviews against defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The consultant is prohibited from undertaking any other assignment during the consultancy tenure.

As a fixed-term contractual consultancy role, there is no permanent cadre promotion track. However, consultants gaining 3 years of high-profile central government awards and IT management experience can be elevated to Senior Consultant or Lead Consultant positions within NDMA or lateral program manager roles across MoHFW, NIDM, or multilateral agencies (UNDP, World Bank).
