Educational Qualification

• Essential Qualifications: (i) First class M. Pharm / M.S. (Pharm.) / M. Tech (Pharm) / M. Tech in Medicinal Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry; OR (ii) Second class M. Pharm / M.S. (Pharm.) / M. Tech (Pharm) / M. Tech in Medicinal Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry with 1 year industrial/research experience (or with Ph.D. in pharmaceutical/medicinal chemistry).
• Desirable Qualifications: Qualified in GATE / GPAT / CSIR-UGC-NET (including lectureship) or equivalent. Prior hands-on experience in organic drug synthesis, characterization (NMR, LC-MS), computational modeling, generative AI, Python programming, and scientific paper writing.
• All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GoI rules.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 32-35 years as per DBT project norms, relaxable for SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and Female candidates as per Government of India rules.

The position is hosted at the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. The DBT-funded project (BT/PR65303/BID/7/1117/2025) is titled 'Integrating Generative AI and Predictive Modelling for the Rational Discovery of Tau Protein-Targeted PROTACs against Alzheimer’s Disease' under Associate Professor Dr. Rajnish Kumar.
