NIT Rourkela Recruitment 2025 – 36 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Posts

Essential Qualification for all posts is a Post Graduate degree in basic science OR a Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course, selected through a National Eligibility Test (CSIR-UGC NET, GATE) or a National Eligibility Examination conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies (DBT, DST, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER).

Specific qualifications vary by project, but generally require:

• B.Tech/B.E. or M.Tech/M.E. in relevant Engineering/Technology disciplines.
• M.Sc. or MCA in relevant Science/IT disciplines.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Medicine, Dental, Pharmacy, or Veterinary sciences.
• Minimum 60-65% marks or 6.5-7.0 CGPA at UG/PG levels.
• A valid GATE/NET/BET/GPAT score or equivalent national level eligibility test is mandatory.
• Some projects (e.g., A2.1, N1.2) may require a First Class in 10th, 12th, and B.Sc. or passing Higher Secondary with 1st Class or Mathematics.
• Opportunity to register for Ph.D. at NIT Rourkela may be available.

The upper age limit for applying for the award of project position is 28 years.

Age relaxations are as follows:

• SC/ST/PwD & Female applicants: Up to 5 years relaxation.
• OBC (Non-creamy layer): Up to 3 years relaxation.

Upper age limit will be calculated as on the last date of receipt of applications.
