Security Assistant

Initial Basic Pay: Rs. 35,400/- (Level-6, Cell-1 as per 7th CPC).

Gross Emoluments: Approximately Rs. 62,400/- per month. This excludes House Rent Allowance (HRA) but includes other allowances as per 7th CPC norms for council employees stationed at CSIR Madras Complex, Chennai. Benefits include New Pension Scheme, Medical Reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession, House Building Advance, Computer Advance, and CEA provisions.

The selection process comprises a Stage-I Skill/Physical and Personality Assessment Test, followed by a Stage-II Competitive Written Examination. Both stages will be held in Chennai.

• Mode: OMR-Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination.
• Medium: English and Hindi.
• Number of Questions: 100 questions.
• Syllabus: General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Problem-solving, Situational Judgment.
• Maximum Marks: 100 marks (1 mark for each correct answer).
• Negative Marking: No negative marks.
• Standard: Class XII.
• Time Allotted: 1 Hour 30 Minutes.
• Qualifying Criteria: Candidates must secure a minimum threshold (not less than 30%) as determined by the Selection Committee.

Candidates who qualify Stage-I will be invited for the Written Examination.

• Type: Subjective Examination.
• Medium: English or Hindi.
• Maximum Marks: 100 marks.
• Subjects and Marks Distribution:
  • Comprehension: 25 marks
  • Report Writing: 25 marks
  • Security Regulations, Firefighting, etc.: 25 marks
  • General Awareness: 25 marks
• Standard: Class XII.
• Time Allotted: 2 Hours.
• Qualifying Criteria: Final merit list will be based on performance in this examination. Minimum threshold marks will be determined by the Selection Committee, but not less than 35%.

Eligible Indian Nationals must follow a two-step application process:

1. Online Application:
   • Visit the CSIR Madras Complex website: http://www.csircmc.res.in.
   • The online application portal will be active from 09:00 A.M. on 2026-08-17 to 05:00 P.M. on 2026-09-16.
   • Candidates without a valid email ID must create one before applying.
   • Register with your name and email ID, then log in to fill the electronic application form.
   • Remit the application fee (if applicable) through SBI Collect by 05:00 P.M. on 2026-09-16.
   • Verify and edit all application details before final submission, as no modifications are allowed post-submission. Save or print the application.
2. Hardcopy Submission:
   • After submitting the online application, take a printout of the system-generated application form.
   • Sign the printed application and affix a recent passport-size, self-signed photograph.
   • Attach self-attested copies of the following documents: Date of Birth Certificate, Educational Qualification Certificates, Experience Certificates, Community Certificate (if applicable), EWS Certificate (if applicable), and proof for remittance of application fee (E-receipt/Transaction reference).
   • For candidates claiming age concession, relevant certificates (Departmental candidates, retired/released armed forces personnel, widows/divorced women) must be attached.
   • Regular employees in CSIR/Government organizations must upload a "No Objection Certificate" (NOC) at the time of online application and send a copy with the hardcopy.
   • Enclose all documents in an envelope superscribed "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF SECURITY ASSISTANT (POST CODE: SA01)".
   • Send the envelope to: The Administrative Officer, CSIR Madras Complex, CSIR Road, CSIR Campus, Taramani, Chennai-600113, Tamil Nadu.
   • The hardcopy must reach the address on or before 05-10-2026.

Application Fee:

• General / OBC / EWS category candidates: Rs. 500/- (non-refundable).
• SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / Women / CSIR Employees: Exempted from payment of application fee.

The fee must be remitted through SBI Collect via the link provided on the online application portal. No other mode of payment will be accepted.
