SSC Stenographer Grade 'C' & 'D' Examination 2026 for Approx. 731 Vacancies

Applications must be submitted exclusively online through the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) website (https://ssc.gov.in) or via the 'My SSC' mobile application, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Candidates are strongly advised to submit applications well before the closing date to avoid issues due to heavy website load.

Application Process Steps:

1. One-Time Registration (OTR):
   • Candidates who have not registered previously on the new SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in) must complete a One-Time Registration. The OTR generated on the old website (https://ssc.nic.in) is no longer functional.
   • Ensure all basic details like name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, and matriculation examination details are filled accurately as per 10th class certificates.
   • Aadhaar Based Authentication is optional but advised. Candidates not opting for Aadhaar authentication must upload prescribed documents for OTR.
   • Registration details must be completed within 30 days, failing which the saved data will be deleted.
2. Filling Online Application Form:
   • After successful OTR and login, click the "Apply" link for "Stenographer Grade 'C' & 'D' Examination-2026" under the "Live Exam" tab.
   • Information from OTR (S. No. 1 to 18) will be auto-filled and cannot be edited.
   • Indicate your highest educational qualification (S. No. 19) and fill in details of educational qualifications (S. No. 20 to 20.7).
   • Provide information regarding ex-serviceman status (S. No. 21 to 21.5) and age relaxation if applicable (S. No. 22 to 22.1).
   • Select your preference for Examination Centres (S. No. 24), choosing three centers in order of priority.
   • Indicate requirements for scribe/assistive technology if applicable (S. No. 25.1 to 25.4).
   • Choose the medium of Skill Test (S. No. 26) and select the posts you are applying for (S. No. 27).
   • Photograph Capture: The application module features live photograph capture. Candidates must stand/sit before the camera in good light, with a plain background, ensuring the camera is at eye level, face is fully within the delineated area, and no cap, mask, or spectacles are worn. Pre-existing photographs are not allowed and will lead to rejection.
   • Signature Upload: Upload a scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (10 to 20 KB), with dimensions of 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height). Blurred or miniature signatures will lead to rejection.
   • Review all entered details thoroughly using the Preview/Print option before final submission.
   • Complete the declaration by clicking "I agree" and filling the Captcha Code.
   • If not exempted, proceed to pay the application fee online.
3. Application Form Correction Window: A correction window will be available from 20-05-2026 to 21-05-2026 (23:00 hrs) with applicable charges (₹200 for first, ₹500 for second correction).

• Application Fee: ₹100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only)
• Exemptions: Women candidates, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from fee payment.
• Payment Mode: Online only through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards.
• Online Fee Payment Deadline: 16-05-2026 (23:00 hrs)
• Correction Charges:
  • First time correction: ₹200/-
  • Second time correction: ₹500/-
• Fees once paid are non-refundable and non-adjustable.
