The recruitment process involves a Computer Based Test (CBT). A separate CBT will be conducted for each Pay Level.

• Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark for each wrong answer.
• Normalization of Marks: Will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC (NCL)-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. (Relaxation of 2 marks for PwBD candidates if needed due to shortage).

• General Science: Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level.
• General Awareness: Current affairs in science & technology, sports, culture, personalities, economics, politics and any other subject of importance.

Candidates must apply ONLINE through the official RRB websites by following these steps:

1. Create an Account:
   • First-time applicants must 'Create an Account' on the official RRB website (rrbapply.gov.in). Existing users from previous RRB CENs (2024/2025/2026) should use their existing login credentials.
   • A valid personal mobile number and active email ID are mandatory for receiving OTPs.
   • Details entered during account creation (mobile number, email ID) cannot be modified later. Candidates are strongly advised to fill this information carefully.
   • Candidates are advised to authenticate their identity using DigiLocker or Aadhaar during account creation for smoother verification.
2. Fill Online Application Form:
   • Access the online application link provided on the official RRB websites.
   • Fill the application form with correct information and re-check before submission.
   • Choose the medium of examination from the 13 regional Indian languages and English.
   • A separate application is required for each Pay Level, and the applicable examination fee must be paid separately for each Pay Level.
   • Candidates must choose only one RRB for each specific Pay Level. Applying to more than one RRB for the same Pay Level will lead to rejection of all applications.
   • Provide an order of preference for the notified posts under the selected Pay Level for which you are eligible and interested.
3. Upload Documents:
   • Live photo capturing is required during the application process (no pre-existing photos). Ensure appropriate dress code (non-white, dark colors) and neutral expression, with the entire face clearly visible and centered. No caps, masks, or glasses/spectacles.
   • Upload scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format (30-49 KB, 140x60 pixels, black ink on white paper, running handwriting, NOT in BLOCK/CAPITAL).
   • SC/ST Certificate (if applicable, for free travel pass) in PDF format (<400 KB, legible).
4. Fee Payment:
   • After submission, candidates will be directed to pay the examination fee online via internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI.
   • Acceptance of the online application is only after successful fee payment.
5. Modification Window:
   • A modification window (01.08.2026 to 10.08.2026) is available for corrections in the application form (except for details filled in 'Create an Account' form and 'Chosen RRB') by paying a non-refundable modification fee of ₹250/- per occasion.

Candidates are advised to visit official RRB websites frequently for authentic information and updates and to apply well before the closing date to avoid last-minute rush.

The application fee structure is as follows:

• For all candidates (except categories mentioned below): ₹500/-. An amount of ₹400/- will be refunded upon appearing in the Computer Based Test (CBT), after deducting bank charges.
• For SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates: ₹250/-. This entire fee will be refunded upon appearing in the CBT, after deducting bank charges.

A separate examination fee is required for each Pay Level applied for. Only candidates who attend the CBT will be eligible for a fee refund.
