Best-Fit Profile

This role is ideal for individuals holding a Post Graduate degree in specific science disciplines (Forestry, Botany, Zoology, Life Science, Environmental Science, etc.) or a BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering. Candidates with NET qualification for the Junior Research Fellow post will be strongly preferred. A minimum of one year of relevant working experience is desirable for JRF. Aspiring research professionals who are passionate about forestry, wildlife, and environmental conservation, particularly those interested in field-level work within Uttarakhand, will find this a valuable opportunity to contribute to significant ecological projects.

Important Considerations

Individuals seeking permanent government employment should not apply, as this position is purely contractual with an initial tenure of 11 months and no claim to permanency. Candidates without the specified educational qualifications or NET for the JRF role may face challenges during screening. Furthermore, applicants unwilling to be deputed across various divisions of the Yamuna Circle for fieldwork should reconsider, as the role requires flexibility in posting locations.

Career Impact

Working with the Uttarakhand Forest Department on initiatives like 'Assisted Natural Regeneration' and 'Green India Mission' offers valuable experience in critical state-level environmental projects. While the roles are contractual, they provide an excellent platform for research professionals to gain practical experience in forestry and wildlife management, contributing directly to ecological efforts. This experience can be a strong asset for future career progression in related government, research, or environmental organizations.
