Best-Fit Profile
This role is ideal for recent MBBS graduates who have completed their compulsory internship and are registered with a state medical council. It particularly suits those looking to gain initial clinical experience in a prestigious central government institution like AIIMS, Kalyani, or individuals seeking a short-term engagement (6 months) to enhance their profile before pursuing postgraduate studies. Candidates with recognized equivalent experience from Army services, Central Health Services, or private practice, who have not completed more than two terms of Junior Residency previously, are also well-suited.
Important Considerations
Candidates who have already completed two terms of Junior Residency (Non-Academic) at any AIIMS or other institutions are explicitly not eligible. Those who passed their MBBS (including internship) more than three years before January 31, 2026, will also not be considered. Individuals seeking a permanent position or long-term career stability should note that this is a purely contractual role for a fixed duration of six months. Also, those unable to attend the walk-in interview on the specified date and time will be disqualified.
Career Impact
AIIMS, Kalyani, as an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, offers a highly prestigious environment for medical professionals. While this Junior Resident role is contractual and short-term (6 months), it provides invaluable exposure to high-quality tertiary healthcare, medical education, and research within a leading central government institution. This experience can significantly boost a candidate's resume, providing a strong foundation for future career advancement, particularly in public health, specialized medical fields, or academic pursuits, despite its temporary nature.
