The Aspirational Block Programme (ABP) is a nationwide initiative by the Government of India, anchored by NITI Aayog, aimed at improving governance and enhancing the quality of life in India's most challenging and underdeveloped blocks. Launched on January 7, 2023, it covers 500 blocks across 27 States and 4 Union Territories by converging existing schemes, defining outcomes, and continuous monitoring.
Role of Aspirational Blocks FellowsAspirational Block (AB) Fellows are strategically deployed to boost the impact of the ABP. They are tasked with leveraging their energy, talent, and passion to foster inclusive growth, community empowerment, and build a prosperous India. AB Fellows collaborate closely with Block-level Officials under the District Magistrate, Amritsar, to develop and implement strategies for ABP thematic areas, facilitate monitoring, planning, and conduct field visits to ensure interventions meet local needs.
