Best-Fit Profile

This role is ideally suited for highly accomplished PhD holders (or MD/MTech) in Life Sciences, Statistical Science, Computational Science, or Genetic Epidemiological Science with a strong focus on Biomedical Genomics. A critical requirement is a minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral research experience coupled with a robust publication record. Candidates demonstrating the ability to conduct independent research in areas like Cancer Biology, Genome Biology, Microbiology, and Infection & Immunity, and who possess expertise in advanced genomic techniques, are particularly well-matched.

Important Considerations

Candidates lacking the specified PhD/MD/MTech qualification and at least three years of post-doctoral research experience with publications should not apply. This is a contractual position; therefore, individuals seeking permanent government employment might find it unsuitable. Those without a clear research proposal aligned with NIBMG's mandate will also struggle to meet the application requirements.

Career Impact

The BRIC-National Institute of Biomedical Genomics is a prestigious national institution, offering a significant platform for cutting-edge research in biomedical genomics. While the position is contractual, it provides an excellent opportunity for independent research, lab leadership, and securing competitive extramural grants, which are crucial for long-term academic and research career advancement within the scientific community in India and internationally. This role offers high prestige and scope for impactful scientific contributions.
