Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: Must include an integrated Bridge Programme of Certificate in Community Health or a 6-month Certificate course in Community Health from a recognized Institute/University, and be registered with the Punjab Nursing Registration Council.
  • Ayurvedic Practitioner (BAMS): From a recognized University or Statutory State Board, with enrolment on the State or Central Register of Ayurveda.
  • Candidates with qualifications d & e (B.Sc Nursing/BAMS) will undergo a 6-month BPCCH course from IGNOU sponsored by NHM Punjab to be appointed as Community Health Officers (CHOs).
  • Candidates must have passed Punjabi up to Matric standard.

Salary & Pay Scale

The consolidated salary for Community Health Officers is Rs. 20,000/- per month, with an additional performance-based incentive of up to Rs. 15,000/- per month.

Candidates are required to apply online through the University's website http://www.bfuhs.ac.in. Applicants must ensure all entries in the online form are accurate as the State Health Society (NHM) will not be responsible for incorrect information. It is advised to cross-check all credentials before submission. Candidates applying for reserved categories must possess the relevant certificates before the application deadline.

A Surety Bond in the prescribed format on Rs. 100/- Stamp paper must be submitted to complete the Bridge Programme and commit to serving the State Health Department/State Health Society for at least three years after successful completion of the programme.

  • Scheduled Castes: Rs. 590/- (Rs. 500 + 18% GST)
