Best-Fit Profile
This opportunity is ideal for medical and science postgraduates (MD/MDS/MPH, M.Sc. in relevant fields like Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, or Immunology) with a strong academic record and a keen interest in clinical research. Candidates with prior research experience, particularly in areas like blood sample processing or RT-PCR, will be highly suitable. This is a project-based role, best suited for individuals seeking short-to-medium term engagement (1 to 3 years) in a dynamic medical research environment.
Important Considerations
Candidates looking for permanent government employment should not apply, as these are purely contractual positions for a limited duration and do not guarantee regular appointment. Individuals without the specified postgraduate degrees or relevant medical/science background will not meet the eligibility criteria. Those who cannot submit hardcopy applications with all required documents by the strict deadline will also be ineligible.
Career Impact
Working on ICMR-funded projects within GMCH-32's Department of Pediatrics offers valuable exposure to significant medical research. While the roles are contractual, they provide an excellent platform for enhancing research credentials and contributing to public health studies (Scrub typhus, Dengue Shock Syndrome). This experience can significantly boost a researcher's profile for future academic or clinical research positions in reputable institutions, both government and private.
