Best-Fit Profile
Candidates holding a First Class M.Sc. or M.E./M.Tech. in Environmental Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Life Science, Botany, Zoology, Forestry, or Chemical Engineering are ideal. Preference will be given to those with relevant field experience and a GATE/NET qualification. This role is well-suited for individuals keen on urban biodiversity studies and environmental research within Bihar, involving field data collection, analysis, and GIS mapping.
Important Considerations
Applicants seeking a permanent position or those who cannot commit to the temporary, one-year tenure (co-terminus with the project) should not apply. Individuals without the specified first-class Master's degree in the relevant fields will not meet the essential qualifications. This position is not suitable for those looking for a purely desk-based research role, as it involves significant field work in various locations in Bihar.
Career Impact
Working as a Junior Research Fellow at a premier institution like IIT (ISM) Dhanbad offers a strong foundation in environmental research and provides exposure to a significant project sponsored by the Bihar State Biodiversity Board. This position enhances research credentials and opens avenues for further academic or research roles, particularly in environmental science and biodiversity conservation. While temporary, the experience gained is highly valuable for a career in research and development.
