Age Limit Details

The upper age limit for applying for the JRF position is 32 years for candidates holding an M.Tech degree and 28 years for candidates with a B.Tech/B.Sc(Engg.)/M.Sc. degree, as of the date of advertisement. Relaxations for SC/ST/OBC/women/PD categories will be provided as per Government of India rules.

Salary & Pay Scale

Consolidated Fellowship/Salary for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position is Rs. 37,000 per month. If the candidate is promoted to Senior Research Fellow (SRF), the salary will be Rs. 42,000 per month.

Shortlisted candidates will be intimated by email on 15th December 2025 and called for a Written Test and Personal Interview scheduled for 22nd December 2025, at 10 AM, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Patna, Bihta, Patna – 801103. Candidates should bring original copies of all supporting documents (certificates, mark-sheets, and GATE Score card) to the interview.

Second class train fare in the shortest route will be admissible for appearing in the personal interview in physical mode at IIT Patna. Guest room in the student hostel may be arranged on prior intimation through email for a maximum of two days.
