Junior Research Fellow

This role is ideally suited for M.Sc. Botany graduates with a strong academic background (at least 55% aggregate marks), especially those specializing in Plant Taxonomy or Systematics. Candidates who have qualified NET (CSIR-JRF) will find a significant advantage, being exempted from the written examination. It targets individuals passionate about botanical research, capable of extensive fieldwork across India, and keen to gain valuable experience in a government scientific organization.

Individuals seeking permanent government employment or direct absorption into BSI should not apply, as this is a purely contractual and temporary fellowship for a maximum of five years. Applicants unprepared for extensive travel, fieldwork in remote and inaccessible areas, or potential posting at any BSI regional center across India will find this role unsuitable. Those without an M.Sc. in Botany or who do not meet the minimum aggregate marks are ineligible.
