Junior Research Fellow

This role is ideal for highly motivated postgraduate candidates (M.Tech./M.E./M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech.) in geology, hydrogeology, geophysics, or related fields. The ideal candidate must be genuinely interested and physically/mentally prepared to undertake extensive, rigorous fieldwork in remote, high-altitude regions of Ladakh. Prior academic or research experience in hydrogeology, groundwater assessment, GIS/Remote Sensing, or climate studies is preferred.

Individuals seeking permanent government employment or those unwilling/unable to perform demanding fieldwork in challenging cold desert and high-altitude climatic conditions should not apply. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, offering no right to permanent employment.
