Junior Research Fellow & Project Scientist

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
  • Essential: Postgraduate degree (M.S.(Pharm.)/M.Pharm./M.Sc.) in Medicinal Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Process Chemistry/ Chemistry from a recognized University/ Institute with a minimum of 60% marks or minimum CGPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale. Candidates must have cleared GPAT/GATE/CSIR-NET or any National entrance test exam conducted by a Central Govt. agency.
  • Desirable: Research experience in multi-step organic synthesis and drug discovery. Preference for candidates understanding Organic Synthesis logic and expertise in structure elucidation (1D/2D-NMR, Mass, FT-IR), retro-synthetic planning, reaction condition optimization, catalyst/solvent/reagent screening, isolation/purification with Flash chromatography, and handling of HPLC.
• Project Scientist -I:
  • Essential: Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Process Chemistry. Applicant must have at least one research publication in a standard referred journal/SCI journal.
  • Desirable: Research experience in organic synthesis as evidenced by publications and/or patents. Candidates with expertise in multi-step organic synthesis, total synthesis of complex molecular frameworks, sustainable Organic Synthesis (design and synthesis of bioactive compounds/small molecules) and drug discovery (in context to Medicinal Chemistry) are preferred. Preference for candidates understanding Organic Synthesis logic (reaction mechanism, principles of synthetic planning, metal-catalyzed chemistry) and expertise in structure elucidation (1D/2D-NMR, Mass, FT-IR, retro-synthetic planning).

Age relaxation will be provided as per Government of India norms. Specifically, for Project Scientist -I, age is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC, physically handicapped, and women applicants.
