Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
The essential academic qualification for all faculty levels is a Ph.D. in the respective discipline with a First Class in all preceding degrees (Bachelor's and Master's). Candidates who have obtained a Ph.D. degree directly after BE/B.Tech are also eligible, provided they have a First Class at the Bachelor's level. Preceding degree requirements vary by department and include qualifications such as BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech, B.Sc, M.Sc, B.Arch, MBA, MCA, etc., in relevant specializations. Age Limit Details
- Assistant Professor Grade II (Pay level 10): Up to 35 years
- Assistant Professor Grade I: Up to 40 years
- Associate Professor: Up to 45 years
- Professor: Up to 50 years
Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India orders. In exceptional cases for candidates with high value of sponsored R&D grants, publication record, or Ph.D. guidance, the age can be relaxed, but not exceeding 60 years for fresh recruits.
Salary & Pay Scale
- Professor: Pay Level 14A
- Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A2
- Assistant Professor Grade I: Pay Level 12
- Assistant Professor Grade II: Pay Level 10
In addition to the basic pay, faculty members are entitled to Dearness Allowance, Transport Allowance, House Rent Allowance (if accommodation is not provided), Reimbursement of Medical and Children Education expenses, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), National Pension Scheme (NPS), a Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA) of Rs. 3 lakh, and an initial research seed grant of Rs. 5 lakh for new recruits.
