Best-Fit Profile

This recruitment is ideal for young Indian citizens (18-33 years as of Jan 1, 2027) who have completed 10th or 12th grade, or possess an ITI/NAC certificate. Crucially, applicants must have a strong background and valid qualifications in Scouts & Guides, including specific badges, active membership for at least 5 years, and participation in national/state/All India Railway events. It's an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking an entry-level, permanent Central Government job within the Indian Railways, particularly those looking for postings in West Bengal or Jharkhand.

Important Considerations

Candidates who do not possess the mandatory Scouts & Guides qualifications (as specified in Para 5.0 of the notification) are strictly ineligible and should not apply. Individuals exceeding the age limits without applicable relaxations, or those who do not meet the minimum educational qualifications, will find their applications rejected. This is not suitable for candidates seeking higher-level or managerial roles, or those who prefer postings outside the specified zones.

Career Impact

Joining the South Eastern Railway offers a stable career within a prestigious Central Government organization. While these are entry-level positions (Pay Level 1 & 2), Indian Railways provides significant opportunities for career growth, departmental examinations, and a comprehensive benefits package. The Scouts & Guides quota itself emphasizes character, service, and leadership, indicating a value placed on these qualities. This role serves as a solid foundation for a long-term public service career.
