Job Analysis

AI-generated insights

Best-Fit Profile

This program is ideal for recent B.Sc. or B.Sc. (MLT) graduates with a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (PGDMLT) who are passionate about specializing in histopathology and cytology. It suits individuals seeking intensive, hands-on training in a prestigious central government institution, aiming for a career as a technologist in accredited laboratories. Candidates must be prepared for a rigorous 12-month program including a mandatory internship.

Important Considerations

Individuals seeking permanent government employment immediately or those unwilling to commit to the full 12-month training and internship period should not apply. Those who require a high salary from the outset or are not prepared to deposit a security amount (refundable upon completion) will find this unsuitable. Given the limited seats and the potential for a written exam, candidates must be highly competitive.

Career Impact

ACTREC, part of the Tata Memorial Centre and a grant-in-aid institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, offers significant institutional prestige. Completing this specialized training and internship from such an organization provides excellent career foundational growth and opens doors to reputable pathology and cytology laboratories across India. The certificate holds considerable value in the medical laboratory science domain.
