Best-Fit Profile

This role is ideal for candidates holding a Post-graduation/Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) in Veterinary Sciences, Animal Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences. Candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in pig/livestock farming will be preferred. It suits individuals seeking a temporary, project-based research role within a prestigious central government agricultural research institution, specifically focusing on the 'AICRP on Pig' project.

Important Considerations

Individuals seeking permanent government employment should not apply, as this is a purely temporary and contractual position with no provision for absorption/re-employment. Candidates lacking specific academic qualifications in the specified fields or relevant experience in livestock farming may find themselves unsuitable. The consolidated pay without HRA might also be a dealbreaker for those expecting a more comprehensive salary package.

Career Impact

Working at ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), a renowned central government research body, offers significant prestige and valuable experience in the field of animal sciences and veterinary research. While the position is temporary, it provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a national project (AICRP on Pig) and gain exposure to advanced research practices, which can be a strong asset for future academic or research career progression.
