Best-Fit Profile
This role is ideal for highly specialized candidates with a strong academic background in Life Sciences, specifically an M.Sc. with NET qualification and significant research experience (3+ years) or a Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell biology, or molecular biology. Candidates with proven research output (at least two international publications) and expertise in cell signalling and viral immunology will be particularly well-suited for this time-bound project focused on vaccine development.
Important Considerations
Candidates lacking the required First-Class or Second-Class M.Sc. with NET, or sufficient research experience/publications should not apply. Those without foundational knowledge in biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology techniques, or specific desirable knowledge in cell signalling and viral immunology, will likely find this role unsuitable. The contractual nature (one year initially) might not appeal to those seeking long-term permanent government positions.
Career Impact
The BRIC-National Institute of Immunology (NII) is a prestigious autonomous institution under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, known for its cutting-edge research. This contractual position offers an opportunity to contribute to a significant ICMR-funded project related to vaccine development, providing valuable experience and exposure in a leading research environment. While the position itself is contractual, working at NII can enhance a researcher's profile significantly.
