The Centre of Plasma Physics- Institute for Plasma Research (CPP-IPR), located at Nazirakhat, Sonapur, Assam, is a scientific institute of IPR (Institute for Plasma Research) under the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India. It is devoted to research and development activities in the areas of Basic Plasma Physics, Magnetic Confinement Fusion, and Industrial and Societal applications of Plasmas. IPR also has extensions of its laboratories at GIDC Sector -25, Gandhinagar, and a Center at Sonapur, Assam.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a B.Sc (Major in Physics) from a recognized University or equivalent. All qualifications must be from recognized Indian Universities/Boards/Institutions. Applicants with qualifications from other countries must submit an equivalency certificate from UGC / AIU.

Age Limit Details

Maximum age limit for general candidates is 35 years for Project Scientific Assistant as on November 01, 2025. Age relaxation for SC/ST/PWD/OBC/Ex-servicemen candidates will be governed as per the rules & guidelines of the Government of India.

Salary & Pay Scale

Monthly emoluments for Project Scientific Assistant will be Rs. 20,000/- plus HRA (as per the institute's rules). No other allowances are admissible. Medical facility will be covered for self only as per DAE CHSS rules adopted by CPP-IPR, with necessary deductions made from the salary.

Walk-in-Interview will be conducted on 25.11.2025 (Tuesday) at CPP-IPR, Nazirakhat, Sonapur-782402, Kamrup (M), Assam.
Reporting time for the interview is from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on the interview date. Applicants reporting later than 11:00 AM will not be considered.
Candidates must submit the duly filled application form as provided in Annexure-A at the time of reporting.
Candidates must bring all their original mark sheets and certificates (from class 10th onwards), experience certificates (if applicable), caste certificates, original identity proof, date of birth proof, etc., in support of eligibility criteria.
A set of self-attested photocopies of all required documents and two copies of recent passport size photographs must also be submitted.
No TA/DA will be paid, nor accommodation will be provided to the candidates for appearing in the walk-in interview.
All correspondence to candidates will be made via the e-mail ID provided in Annexure-A application form.
