Best-Fit Profile

This role is ideally suited for dedicated health professionals holding B.Sc. Nursing (with BPCCHN), GNM, or BAMS degrees, who are registered with the West Bengal Nursing Council or Paschim Banga Ayurved Parisad respectively. Candidates must be 40 years old or younger as of April 1, 2026, and possess proficiency in Bengali and local dialects. It's an excellent opportunity for those seeking to contribute to community-level public health initiatives under the National Health Mission in West Bengal.

Important Considerations

Individuals lacking the specific educational qualifications or valid registration with the relevant West Bengal councils should not apply. Candidates not proficient in Bengali or local dialects, or those unwilling to work on a contractual basis with a bond agreement, will find this role unsuitable. Those solely seeking permanent government positions might also be deterred by the contractual nature.

Career Impact

Working as a Community Health Officer under the District Health and Family Welfare Samity, Paschim Bardhaman, offers a direct pathway to impact public health at the grassroots level as part of the National Health Mission. While contractual, the role provides significant hands-on experience in public healthcare delivery and contributes to a vital government program, enhancing career prospects in the health sector within West Bengal.
