• 1st and 2nd year: Rs. 38,750 per month
• 3rd, 4th and 5th years: Rs. 43,750 per month
• Support is provided till PhD completion or 5 years, whichever is earlier.
• Reimbursement of Rent (RoR) is 16% of the fellowship, linked to the PhD Candidate's fellowship.
• The fellowship is subject to availability of funds from the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme.

The screening test for shortlisted candidates will be objective type and cover the following content:

• Verbal Reasoning
• Quantitative Reasoning
• Analytical Writing

• Applicants must carefully read the instructions before filling the online application form.
• A separate application form is required for each discipline if applying for more than one.
• Reservation rules as per the Government of India are applicable.
• Applicants waiting for qualifying exam results can apply, provided results are declared before admission.
• An incomplete application will not be considered.
• Details of at least two well-acquainted people for reference letters are required (at least one academician).
• Applicants must regularly check the Institute website and emails for important updates.
• No TA/DA will be provided for the screening test/interview.
• Candidates called for screening test/interview must bring a Photo ID, a printed copy of the online application, thesis/dissertation/report/publications, original certificates, mark sheets, valid GATE/NET/SLET scorecards, and caste certificates along with one printed copy of each.
